About

This is my personal blog. It’s not about anything in particular; I expect I’ll use it as some sort of storage area for things I want to notice or think about.

If you’re wondering about the name, The Loneliest Island: I heard the phrase in a song on the radio one day. Here’s part of that song: one verse and the chorus from Hold On To Me by The Black Sorrows (1988), written by Joe Camilleri and Nick Smith:

We were sold out for silver
And a string of black pearls
On the loneliest island
At the edge of the world

Like destiny’s children
Souls lost at sea
No room on the life boat
You can hold on to me

I don’t know what that’s about, but I like the image of the island at the edge of the world, and the idea that whatever is ahead, we’re in it together.
